I: Basics
This is for:
people who don't know how to download movies and so on and don't get the idea or whatever so here is a guide I made so when someone asks "how do I download from here?" they can just look at this guide.. anyways lets get started!
First we are going to need some basic programs downloaded
First off we need Winrar you can download it here
Code:
http://mmovp.org/software/11757-winrar-3-80-pro-full-version.html
then next we need a program called Imageburn to burn .ISO's you can download it here
Code:
http://imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
Next we will need ConvertXtoDVD to burn our movies you can download it here
Code:
http://mmovp.org/software/201-download-vso-convertxtodvd-kept-updated.html
Now you need a bit torrent client, I use utorrent so lets use that. download it here
Code:
http://www.utorrent.com/
Now you need VLC media player to play the movies you can download it here:
Code:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
OPTIONAL download to make life easier:
Nero:
Code:
http://mmovp.org/software/8398-nero-9-2-6-0-new-version.html
Nero Micro:
Code:
http://mmovp.org/software/11072-nero-9-2-6-0-micro-lite-version.html
Rapidshare Manager for (XP)(ONLY Primium):
Code:
http://rapidshare.com/files/156359307/RSM4XP.exe.html
Rapidshare Manager for (VISTA):
Code:
http://rapidshare.com/rsm.html
Tuneup Utilities 2009:
Code:
http://mmovp.org/system-utilities/6539-tuneup-utilities-2009-8-0-1100-english-new-version.html
Now you should download all of that stuff first. so it makes life easier when doing everything here.
Now lets get some basic terminology down that will be used through out this guide.
whats a torrent you ask?
a peer-to-peer file sharing (P2P) communications protocol
whats DDL (Direct download links?)
DDL's are links like rapidshare, megaupload and so on. They are faster then torrents most of the time. and using DDL's are a lot easier and more efficient then torrents. but with most DDL places, you have to pay a
monthly fee.
a Keygen is a term that will come up a lot when downloading software. a keygen is well a key generator. it will generate a serial and a name for you to use.
Some more basic info on torrents:
With torrents there are seeders. seeders are people you are downloading from. as in they are uploading for you. Its not a must to seed. but most people want you to. once your download is complete you
automatically start seeding until you stop the torrent.
II: how to use winrar + basics of downloading; Rapidshare
Lets get started on how to download Movies
OK so I am browsing through the general movies downloads section, and I see a movie I like. what do I do now?
well click the movie thread you want
I clicked on this:
Code:
http://mmovp.org/general-movie-downloads/5779-28-11-dvdrip-pineapple-express-dvdrip-xvid-arrow.html
Now once you at on that screen you see a lot of stuff you probably have no idea about. You will see the info about the movie, the specifications.

Release group means the person who released the movie.
file name is the name of the files you will be downloading.
the source means it is from a DVD source
Size means the size of the movie, it is 707MB the average size for a movie.
now for video it says XviD, that means it use's XviD codec the most common used one. then 624 x 256 means that is the resolution of the movie, just like the resolution of your screen. that's how big it is.
NOW you will see download links which are (DDLS)

They are for people who have the money to buy a Rapidshare account or netload account or megashares account. I Use rapidshare. you can buy a rapidshare account at
Code:
http://rapidshare.com
First you have to buy a rapidshare account before you can download with rapidshare, the same with netload and megashares. but you can also download for free but there is a wait time for certain file size's
but if you have the money to buy a rapidshare account buy one. it is worth it in my opinion. then after that, open up your rapidshare manager
Read this first, then watch the video, and read this again.
anyways, as you see in the video I went to account con fig to enter my premium account log in info then after that I went to upload to show you where to upload files, then after that I went to the download part. I
went back to whereever you found the DDLs then I copied them and then clicked add on the rapidshare manager, then pasted my links in. Now they are downloading.
I didn't feel like waiting so I just paused the video. and then started it with other links but after its done downloading right click on the file. click open file location. then find the .rar files you just downloaded right click on
the first 1 and click extract files. then pick where you want them extracted to. I choose the folder I made on my desktop called rapidshare. then sometimes it extracts to the .AVI and sometimes it doesn't. it all
depends on how they were packed. but then go to the folder it created after extracting them and then open it. if there's more .rar files then just right click on the first one and click extract. if not open it up double click
on the .AVI and you are ready to watch your movie. here is the video of what I just explained to you.
Code:
http://www.megavideo.com/?v=09P7G0A7
Lets cover how to extract real fast also since its in the video, anyways when you see the little book mark (winrar logo) that means its a supported file type for winrar. you can right click on it then click extract files it will
extract the files into one. winrar is used to compress files and make them smaller. and easier to handle. Also you can archive files. that means make a file a .rar file or .zip you can make multiple files into one
.rar then extract them into all the files again.

III: Torrents
Next Torrents! (we just covered basicly how to extract and how to download with DDL's)
Now downloading torrents wont be as fast as rapidshare, but its free so if you cant buy a RS account then this is your best bet. There are also private trackers which have great speed on downloading, but I will
explain that later on.
now in the same post I was talking about earlier at the bottom you see a attachment. That is the torrent. you click it, and it will open up in uTorrent. now I will show you the video.
Code:
http://www.megavideo.com/?v=C4RAOHTU
As you saw in the video, I clicked the attachment, and of course I didn't have utorrent as my default I had to set it real fast, but after that I clicked utorrent then I clicked open and then utorrent opened up. when I
file is done it has a check mark beside it like the norton anti virus did. when I file is seeding it has a up arrow beside it instead of a check mark. seeding means you are uploading for people. It may slow your computer
down.
Trackers are where you are downloading it from,
like thepiratebay has there tracker with there name in it.
but as you could see I was only getting about 20kbs and with rapidshare I was getting over 1100kbs.
the more seeders the faster it will go. so try to get something with a lot of seeders.
but anyways, that's basically everything about torrents. Private tracker sites usually have faster speeds because they upload there own torrents to seed box's, or just have really good internet speed. but an example
of a private site is

Now after you have extracted your movie, and you see the .AVI file what do I do now? If you want to watch it on your computer, just open it with VLC media player. If you want to burn it, burn it with convertxtodvd
IV: How to burn movies
and now I will show you a video of how to use convertxtodvd
Code:
http://www.megavideo.com/?v=H7V4W29S
The video explains everything.

V: how to use imgburn (burning ISO's)
how to use imgburn to download .ISO's
Some things you might find in .ISO formats are games. or anything you have to burn to a disc. like operating systems.
here is a video of how to use it.
Code:

That is basically the basics on what you need to know to get started. once you learn all of this stuff you can find everything else out yourself, you should have the knowledge now anyways.
some common things you might see is DVDRips, R5s, TS, TC, CAM here is a link that will explain all of that
also here is a link that explains a lot of other useful information
