First, u need to goto Start, then run. Type in regedit in the box. Next, goto the folder HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\VxD\MS TCP
Now, find the string DefaultRcvWindow . Now, edit the number to 64240 then restart your computer. There you go. High speed cable modem now with out dloading a program. Original value is 373360

This METHOD WILL ONLY WORK IN WINDOWS XP PRO WITH CABLE MODEM

IT WILL MODIFY AND SPEED UP YOUR CABLE MODEM

EDIT : I'm stuck ...

I can go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\

But i see that VxD thingy nowhere ... I can choose:

Control
Enum
Hardware Profiles
Services

and that Vxd is in neither of those maps ...

I run on XP professional (Black edition) (my other pc has regular XP pro and doesn't have this map either)

Help appreciated, really need a quick speed

guys you have to realize this is for high speed cable modem

i never try this one because i have T1 and not gable
when you instal the cable modem you should have all the files in your registry

if you don't have high speed gable modem you waste your time
